I have read somewhere, that the engine is very sensitive to sooth / dirt in the oil circuit. I know the EGR is known to cause a lot of this. Posted: Sun 05 Aug, 2012 3:40 pm. Hi. I recently had to replace the turbo on the above car however since then it appears to be stuck in limp mode. I struggle to get over 3000 rpm making getting about a bit trickier than usual. First Post here, Having issues with my 2006 407 1.6hdi. When I purchased the car I assumed it was just lazy as its quite a large vehicle although if you worked it hard enough (over 3000 revs) it would take off and have aload of power. So a little update. I haven't had much time to work on the engine lately but I has checking the turbo again today and noticed the Wastegate wasn't moving when started the car or if you press the throttle.
