Don't do both muffler and resonator because dsg pop will sound raspy. Combine that with a downpipe and you're looking at obnoxiously loud, unless that's what you're looking for. But with just the muffler delete, it's quiet on the highway, and very quiet in general, but about 50-60% louder than stock. There wasn’t a whole bunch wrong with the Mk7 Golf. And actually, most of the time in the new one we longed for the clarity of the old car’s infotainment. Get yourself a 148bhp TSi with Nov 18, 2021. #1. Hey guys, some advise please.. My first Mk7 Golf and my current Mk7 Golf both produce the same noise on starting, I haven't let it bother me. Overall I find the 1.4 TSI engine quite noisy, it sounds like a diesel engine compared to a Mk4 2 litre naturally aspirated engine. Just as well the cabin has such good noise insulation. So I just scanned my new (to me) 2017 GTI out of curiosity and the only fault code given was one for the engine. The code is listed as such: 15211 - Oil Pressure Regulating Valve P164E 00 [047] - Electrical Malfunction Now this isn't causing a CEL, but it is something I'm curious about. Has Mark I am sure I have read it on this forum, the 1.4 TSI 122PS engine is a new engine and is not the same as the one in MK6. As I am a proud owner of the MK7 with the above mentioned engine, I am sure it is belt driven. So, If anything does happen in the next year - I'll still have it under warranty. In the meantime I'm pretty happy with the job they did replacing the sensor and camera in the ACC system. All the other sensors in my MK7 work just fine. Its a great car and all the new tech in the MK7 make it a really good car to drive.
